    The first and last time....

...that I will ever cycle from home to work. (or at least this job and this home.)

I've always said that at some point I would cycle to work. It's 25 miles by car, but I can also get here using the canal towpaths for all but the first 2 miles and the last few hundred yards, which knocks the mileage up to 30 as it meanders round about. I leave this job tomorrow, so it was now or never. However.... looking at the maps it's also 30 miles along the towpaths to my new job in Nottingham - so maybe I'll get to do this again sometime.

I'm dreading the 30 miles back home!!

Could always cheat and let the train take the strain home (as a colleague who cycles in to Leeds from Ilkley regularly does)

Hope it stays dryish - unlike my ride today, I would not have been any wetter if I'd have rode into the canal. Enjoy the new job.

Well the first 10 home was great. Nice smooth gravel paths, predominantly downhill through the locks. Then it started to rain. Then I completely ran out of energy. The last 10 was just horrible. Kebab and chips when I got back made it all better!

You've obviously already seen the automated beer mug on the 'MTB tyres' thread (the obvious place for it, of course!)
