    Thanks for the link, Lucky!
The best bit is "Sleep: Sleep may be your body’s best opportunity to rebuild itself. Ensure you are getting sufficient sleep for your needs".

Now that's what I call advice!

Now, do I go out for a "jog" this pm, or not!??

I've also got tough decisions to make at the moment about running... when, for how long, and where

I got carried away today and RAN but only 50 steps on soft grass on the flat-ish top of a fell. Plus 10 steps part way up it I just couldn't resist.

Going to try a short run/walk on Thursday, then if it goes OK easy runs on alternate days. Meanwhile I'm biking but not enthusiastic about it.

Fell off my bike on the Buttermere pass yesterday. Bruised hip and grazed shoulder, knee and ankle to go with the plantar fasciitus make up today's catologue of injuries! :-(

Well I've been injured since the 1st September now with a groin strain.

Kept resting, waiting for it to get better but it hasn't.

So had to take the plunge and book an appointment with a physio.

I've never seen a physio before but I need to get it sorted, as rest hasn't worked.

    Good luck with the appointment!!
Keep an open mind re:advice and maybe ask re what X training you can do until you're back on the fells??

I'm still injured... also since Sept 1st I ran on alternate days for a week -never over 4 weeks - but my shin splints came back

Now it looks like possibly the start of a stress fracture
Two more weeks off running for me, maybe longer.

Hope you are all getting better!!

    Re: Todays Injuries

To put this under 'today's injuries' is misleading in the extreme as I've been carrying this around with me for yonks now (well at least a year). Basically my right ankle is stiff, especially first thing in the morning ( ), and is sort of painful to walk on. I also notice it walking up steps and its enough to give me a noticeable limp at times.

The funny thing is, as soon as I put on my running shoes and start running I rarely ever feel it at all, certainly not until later or the following morning anyway. I can't remember for sure which ankles were involved now but I think that I've had ligament injuries to both when playing football (circa 15 to 20 years ago), I fractured an ankle too (but can't remember which one) and still have the odd in built 'reflex' recovery should my ligaments almost get turned on a run.

With my job I also do a fair whack of driving and I sometimes wonder if its related to my accelerator foot being held in position for so much time.

Anyway, add all this to running in the hills and fells almost every Saturday and Sunday (and in the week, light permitting) and I can't see my ankle ever getting better. Any tips for treatment anyone? I'd rather it wasn't stop running

    Just a rant, really.
I'm sooooooooooo sick of doing nothing but look at other people run (you can see the track from my window).
I'm worse than last week, having done nothing (a trip to the physio. meant some stirring up of symptoms on assessment).

I thought that a bit of spin cycling would do me good, but a pinged hamstring means that I can't even swim without pain.
MANY LOUD SWEARS (I'm trying to give my family a rest).

Whiplash in my neck after a fall on Hebog last Saturday, been very painfull since, but easing off now (week later).
Feet went out from under me on a wet grass descent and down I crashed.
Is this a first for this fell injury??
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.
