    Re: Todays Injuries

Well its not today's injury but a three week old one. How long to recover from a twisted ankle now three weeks old? Walking is no problem and wasn't really after about 3/4 days, but as soon as i try to run/jog the pain is there.

An osteo has diagnosed 5/10 damage to ligaments on both sides of the ankle, its the inside that's giving me the pain. He originally suggested i'd be light jogging by now, i think its a way off yet though.

Just wondered what the anticipated recovery time might be really.

    Unhappy Re: Todays Injuries

Been to see my GP today and it looks like i have torn my ACL.

So glad i pre-entered Edale, Paddys Pole, Fairfield, and 3 Peaks.

    Money well spent.

    Cr@p!

Depends on how much you enjoy the footy?

I packed it in a couple of years ago due to injuries!

Played a one off about 5 weeks ago and forgot how much I enjoyed it!

Then with 10 mins to go I did my groin in and and could run for 10 days!

So won't be bothering till at least after FLM!

    Pack it in !

Best thing I did was giving up playing at 35 ! Fed up of getting injuries, getting fit, getting back playing and getting injured again. Touch wood with the running nothing anywhere near as bad ! Miss the 'crack' that you get before and after games etc but getting in with a good running club goes some way to replacing that.

Havent kicked a ball in anger for nearly 5 years now !!!
If you cant change something, change the way you feel about it !

I would agree. Give up the footy, given the law of averages, if you run around a small space with 9 other blokes for long enough you will get injured. I tend to play a few times a year now either 5 a side or have a run out in our works 11 a side games. Good fun and I do not take it as seriously as I used to - the red mist used to descend a bit too often!

    Give it up.

Think about it, all those blokes running around in circles, kicking a ball....pointless. Now then, fell running...........

Good decision HL. You invest too much time running to allow some numpty the opportunity to injure you.

Hoping to do Pipe Dream as well. If you want a lift to DITD3, gimme a PM.
