Tim Mosedale Triathlon
At 6pm tomorrow night (Friday), Keswick climber and mountain guide Tim Mosedale will set off on a bonkers personal challenge he has set himself to raise funds for the families of three of his Sherpa staff who were killed in the avalanche at Everest Basecamp earlier this year.
He is planning to ride the route of the Fred Whitton 112 miles over the 6 highest Lakeland passes
Then he will swim two lengths of Derwentwater (starting at approximately 4am Saturday) 5 Miles
Then he will attempt to complete a Bob Graham round on a 28 hour schedule, starting at approximately 9am on Saturday.
Tim will be carrying a tracker throughout http://maps.opentracking.co.uk/mosedale15.cfm and will welcome any support or encouragement either at road heads or on the hill. It's going to be challenging enough just providing his road support and we will all sleep well on Sunday night.
Please join me in wishing him the best of luck and a following wind and if you are suitably impressed please send him a few quid to help to make all the suffering worthwhile.
Thank you

Tim completed the Fred Whitton in 11 hours taking on lots of food and drinks before entering Derwentwater at 6am this morning. Not surprisingly he suffered some cramps and was cold at the Lodore end of the lake. Undeterred though he had a great swim on the home leg and tucked into a hearty breakfast before setting off up Skiddaw on Leg 1 of the BG. He is currently approaching the summit of Blencathra - AWESOME!!
