Chris Upson's Lakes24 is an impressive example: http://chris-upson.com/lakes24.htm

About time someone repeated it. This is still the only time 24 Marilyns have been done on foot in <24h AFAIK. (I've done 39 in <24h but that did involve a car and was nowhere near the Lakes)

yes I did a 40@40 route of 66 miles and 23000 feet that onkly had 2 miles in common with the BG. took some devising to avoid the BG. Its a great route and it would be nice to see someone else doing this.

see the second entry under http://longdistancechallenges.blogsp...1_archive.html

Nice one FMA! An interesting take on on-sighting, although you presumably had some kind of a route plan as you finished with 40 Tops. I guess it shares more of the Upson route than the BG?

As soon as Wynn sees this Rob, she will have a date in the diary!

I've just updated the map and added a profile of the route here:
    http://chris-upson.com/lakes24.htm

Let me know if anyone fancies a shot at repeating it.
There are a couple of forest sections - climbing Harter Fell and cutting through Whinlatter - where it helps to know the best route.

It is on my, "to have a go at list". Maybe in a couple of years time though. It is a well conceived round and I'm sure it will start to get more atention soon. It deserves it.

Once did the Wasdale race in about 24 hours (well it felt like it anyway).
