Never done this race before but may do this year. Any tips or hints ?
I don't normally do B Cat races at all so it'll be like going back in time, I'm guessing there aren't many 'rocks' in it, black or otherwise, but you never know....

Black Rocks is a gritstone crag overlooking Cromford with some well-known climbing routes. Not done the race but the name brings back memories of evenings out with my brothers sons when they were little; ice-cream and fish and chips in Matlock Bath. Happy Days!Originally Posted by TimW

Nothing like great memories Derby Tup. So the 850' of climb could be vertical then? lol.
Looks like that would need re-grading from BS to Vdiff!
Having seen route description on Matlock AC web-site it'll be one of those all-runnable races with no let up!
dom went up the climb last year very quick
def one that sets off quick but the incline is harder than you think
HP incline is a good climb - I've done it a few times on my bike. I bet the run back along the canal would be fun too at the end of the race!
Happy memories here too , i cycled up Intake Lane in cromford and onto the High Peak trail to Black Rocks then flew down to my school in Wirksworth, much better than the school bus. It'll be a great run , lovely round there, careful on Black Rocks itself , sadly it claims a life every now and then but people or pets simply running over the edge.
Generally going nowhere fast.
Does anyone have anydetail of this race?
as i's on my doorstep I might pop along and see how the land lies, not to run of course that's still too hard
