    Rougemont Chase 27/7

Who fancies this then (4.5 miles, out to top of a hill and back) at Weeton Show, between Harrogate and Otley? The name Weeton must surely mean top quality throughout, there are confirmed big cash prizes and a heavy horse class to attract the Ponies. Some of us might even qualify for the local entry! http://weetonshow.com/rougemont.html

I'm guessing this is the replacement for the Almscliffe Crag Race which used to be held at Weeton Show.

Seems less climb in this but also less road in total and you don't have to cross the A658!!

Considering this for sunday 31st, did it in '09 it's very flat and fast. Woods shouldn't be a bog this time.

Might be there, might do a long run or bike ride instead!

About 300ft climb in 4.5 miles so in fellrunners' parlance very flat!!

I fancied this, as it's a lot closer than heading up for the 'James Herriot' at Castle Bolton............... then realised that my days-off were Friday/Saturday, not Saturday/Sunday.

    Damn!!!

(will hopefully make both the 'Arncliffe Gala' road & fell-races though on Saturday 13th - I know that's a weekend off)
Generally to be found plodding along with 'www.ackworthroadrunnersandac.co.uk'

I ran and enjoyed it a couple of years ago. Its penciled in for this year after missing it due to injury last time round.

I'm going for a top 3, though i'm sure RoBo and the rest of Harrogate Harriers will have something to say about that. I'm going to keep my powder dry for now, but let's just say i've paid Noel's shed a visit. Looking forward to 6wks of 5m speed endurance training beforehand.
