    Other running books?

I really enjoyed Feet in the clouds and have just re read the BGR sections. I have also read a book recently by an American (cant remember his name?)who does some amazing Ultra runs whilst ordering pizzas from delivery companies to meet him at road junctions etc during his 190 mile non stop runs!
Can anyone recommend any other fell running, enduro/ultra running books?
Thinking of getting me psyched for Winter training whilst on holiday!

I've recently read Ranulph Fiennes autobiography, Mad, Bad and Dangerous to know. (anyone see the ITV4 programme and his Eiger climb last night?)

Another inspiring read. As well accounts of his expeditions, it includes a chapter on his 7x7x7 marathons, and some of his adventure races.

Not got round to reaing Mike Stoud's book yet but the two of them have done a lot together.

"Evidence of a Mis-Spent Youth" by Mark Pickard is the most incredible and disturbing tale of body abuse through long distance running that I've read. You will struggle to find a copy though since it's out of print, but well worth tracking down if you can.

Mr Pickard ran something like 300 consecutive sub-3 hour marathons in the 1980s with a PB of about 2:20, and he also once held the 24hr World Record for distance covered running around a track. He would frequently race both days each weekend, for example doing a 100 mile on Saturday, and a 10 mile race on Sunday. And I'm sure he won the London to Brighton when that was a road race.

Running Through The Wall - Personal Encounters With The Ultramarathon, edited by Neal Jamison, contains accounts of ultras by around 40 different runners. Really inspiring. It was here that I first heard of The Barkley Marathons (http://www.mattmahoney.net/barkley/). Well I can dream, can't I?
