Thread: Pheonix O

    Pheonix O

Having recovered from Saunders - loss of sole on ball of right foot from continual contouring- I now realise how much I enjoyed being soaked to the skin and lost in the mist and would like to enter another event. Considering doing the Pheonix O. I like the idea of not carrying overnight kit. Can anyone advise how the classes compare to Saunders? Did Carrock this year but was on the limit of my current fitness - navigation no problem.
    Cheers

I've not done the Saunders but have done the Phoenix several times. It's a brill event! Really friendly and low key.

Ditto.........brilliant event, great that you don't have to carry your gear

Sometimes a bit more navigating required as its set by orienteers, last time i did it they changed to an orienteering map from a 1;2500 for the last section, this was interesting as it was completely scale and the symbols all different.

Have a go though, good fun, but take some midge repellent
