Just like that in the north lakes, if it wasn't for the persistent rain

But if it wasn’t for the persistent rain, it wouldn’t be the Lakes

Rained heavily yesterday but looks like a much better day today. Going for a walk on the SWCP later

Whereabouts in South Devon are you DT...?

I've got a week left to take before end of year. Very tempted just to go up to the Lakes again, finish off the Wainwrights...

Seaton, staying with the in-laws. I’m not allowed to fly anywhere while on chemotherapy and there’s a very good hospital in Exeter if needed

Off to Scotland on Saturday - Skye, North (and South) Uist, Harris and Lewis. Not been to the Outer Hebs before but really looking forward to it.

    Fantastic...!

I was in Skye in February. Despite the often horrific weather it was unbelievable, and I think the weather added to that. Genuinely hostile on some of the big mountain days out.

A fantastic place in Skye if you've not been, and are after a more relaxing day, but still outdoors, is the area around Neist Point lighthouse, and the huge nearby cliff/headland (Waterstein Head?)

Almost as enjoyable as the holiday was the drive through the Kintail area between Ft William and Kyle of Lochalsh. Absolutely stunning.

First of our trips went tits up when our flight to Copenhagen got cancelled, we were already at a Manchester airport hotel when we got a text at 1.55 to say our 6.45 flight was cancelled. Had a weekend in Manchester but not quite the same, at least we got a full refund so we'll put that towards another trip
