Outer Hebrides are fabulous. Run the three big hills on South Uist and be happy. The hills on Harris are also marvellous. Clisham horseshoe is great, but the Uig hills are even better. Check out the local archeology - if that interests you. It also has fine beaches in the west and the golden road on S Harris is a fine drive - or cycle. Stornaway black pudding is the finest you will ever eat. Enjoy

Thanks for all the holiday suggestions. Much appreciated.
Will check out Neist Point. Spent a few days over that side of Skye last year and it was an afternoon cuppa looking out to Lewis that has prompted this year's holiday.
I'm planning on only doing a couple of runs on the Isles probably taking in the some hills of Harris, though don't have a set itinerary for that. Just see where and when takes my fancy.
Will certainly check out the Stornoway black pudding. A fine campervan breakfast if ever there was one!
Mrs S read Archaeology and ancient history and we've already mapped out a number of places to visit in that respect.
Packing the van tonight and then an early start up the M6 tomorrow. Can't wait

Back in England now and missing the Outer Hebrides. Already hatching plans to visit Barra next year as didn't have time in the last couple of weeks.
Highlights of the Isles had to be the Uists and Eriscay, though Harris came a close second. Enjoyed a couple of runs - a coastal one on North Uist and hills of South Uist. Not enough time on Lewis/Harris and weather was not good anyway.
Other highlights were Uig sands, visit to Abhainn Dearg distillery, the drive around the Golden Road, Callanish and Stornoway black pudding.

I trust you kept the midges well fed while you were in the Western Isles.

Thankfully no midges really to speak of. Have a few bites but a combination of rain, wind and Avon "skin so soft" seems to have done the job. They seemed to be more prevalent on the mainland and then mainly in the evening where citronella candles seem help keep the blighters out of the campervan.

Will keep dry on the walk to the pub🍺😎
