    Good news Merry

I did 40 minutes on the turbo last night... Another 40 minutes tomorrow, then two road rides allowed the weekend... Saturday and Sunday Getting better at last!

    Yes this is true
But im talking about when your DEAD on the bike. We have all been there.
The body cannot store enough carbs for a long ride. You wouldnt be able to get on the bike if you tried to eat that much.

When you get up to about 60miles say ( in my case) , you can start to feel it coming.
40miles when your fit , you get away with but a bit more , 50/ 55/ etc and then the body reacts. Remember im talking no stops on the way which is how i prefer to train.

Unless your a very strict on the bike and even proffesional roadmen in the peleton forget to eat correctly you will hit the bonk.
Most every day riders will leave it too late.
I just always carry coca cola mixed with something else in one bidon and water in another.

As Tom Simpson said , Its just sugar Me Lord.

One of the best ways to keep your body in order I think if your riding a bike lots( say 400miles a week ) is too have extra vitamins.

its the bloody drips i cant get used to

haha yes dont try and put a noooooons tablet in your coca cola

40 minutes on the trubo again yesterday morning, looking forward to an hours road riding tomorrow though, even though it is hailing and blowing a gale outside right now

2 hours MTBing yesterday. Recced leg 2 of PBR and then cycled in a nasty headwind back to Blackshaw Head. Mud on the cables and front changer froze so could not use gears - nice.
