    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Sounds like a good ride Daz! I try and go out on the bike 6 days a week at the moment... Rest day today...

So I put the new handlebars on the track bike. They are REALLY LOVELY! Old school style and I don't really want to tape them up... Got them at my Dutch bikeshop. The guy had bought them for himself (ex por) and never used them, they are 3T and had a little search for them on 't web and I reckon I got myself a bargain at 20 euros

Now, what shall I do, bartape wise? Full tape, track style half tape, no tape???

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Well i didnt get up in time to do my planned 50 miler (forgot to set the alarm) so i settled for a 12 mile very up'y down'y route.
Tried belting it along as much as possible and my quads are still screaming today.

I forgot to wear my garmin so i dont know how much climbing or exact time but i'll try and do it again next monday and clcok it properly.

I can really tell i havent riden my road bike in a long time, my back was aching after 8 miles or so.

Its such a bloody speed machine even with the 13/26....jeez i wonder what speed i could get with a flat set-up.

Oh, and if anyone cares i also have specialised shoes because the other types werent wide enough, and i have a cevelo test team jersey which i rather like.

70ish up to Horton-In-Ribblesdale with around 7 others. The tail wind home seemed to make people frisky and we had some fun coming back with good road race practice.
Picked the new stead up when I got back, pics uploading, will post a few teasers on soon...................

Just did 25kms (stage 3) of the 'Tour of Turkey'. It's on German Eurosport. An Italian won. Lots of traffic-free dual carriageway...ending up at the sea.
The great thing about cycle racing in Turkey is that no-one can throw his bottle away.
