2 hours on the single-speed mtb.... the trails just keep getting better and better.
last night an impromptu ride back from chesterfield station, to pilates in attercliffe - managed to avoid the rain - 18 miles, 1200 feet, making 25mi total for day
Back after sore knee and legs.
13.2 mile 1100" climb and Av speed of 14.8mph
Bit breezey this evening and chilly with it.
where did you go stagger? was your knee ok?
Finally got my new bike rack fitted to the car as the first fittings were not suitable for carbon forks.
I really want to give a mention to www.roofbox.co.uk in Sedbergh as they swapped everything over without question. great service (and I have nothing to do with them apart from being a recent customer)
Cattle Grids - How do you all take them on a road bike?
Theres a few round where I live....and I always get off because Im worried im going to buckle my wheel.
I was just reading someones blog from the fred whitton and the guy mentions a fellow cyclist bunny hoped the cattle grid. Sounds like a cracking idea but if you get it wrong your knackere!
On a fast downhill you can jump them without a problem. Some are worse than others with the concrete lip proud of the rungs which causes the problems. On a flat section I usually slow down and take the best line across, you get to know which are not too good after several years over the same ones!
