50 mile round the Howgills from Cowgill just outside Dent.
    Clockwise route on back roads.
Sedbergh, round top side of Tebay, lunch in Orton, down past Fat Lamb pub and back to camp site via Sedbergh.
Perfect roads were so quite, great view, excellent company and summer weather.
This Sunday cycling could catch on.

People comment on how they struggle to stop their underarms slipping on the bar tape.

Try rolling your sleeves up and a tip I learnt off a well known rider years ago was to tie a couple of elastic bands to the tops of the bars to stop the slipping. After a while it will become second nature.
If you come off please dont blame me.
I have tri bars (done some tri's) but it don't make me no faster!!

I think it's getting up the hills at a decent pace that I struggle with, I have MTB rear mech and cassette on my road bike just so I can keep going up the hills!!!

Did a hilly 38 miles road bike on saturday 3256ft in ascent approx and I only managed a pitiful 13.2 mph - mind it was bloody hot and windy!!

Very well done trevor. Nice one. Have you managed to find any new places . The beauty of the bike is that it takes you places that you would never have visited before

When you climb do you change gears on the climb to make it easier or do you stay in the same gear from the bottom of the hill.

He's been quoted as saying he's doing the World Ironman Champs in Kona next year. He'll be in the 40-44 age cat.

yep and ive heard that one before as well
the man has a lot on his plate. The peloton cannot now be bossed like years ago. This could be his hardest tour never mind his last.
His treatment of Contador last year was not good. Enemies are all around.
Lets hope Wiggins and Cavendish can sparkle.
This is the first time ever we have an English rider ever that has been totally back by his team for a place. Not even Simpson had that.
He sadly never got to say that this would be his last tour.

AL have you chucked that bike in the shed yet ?????
