I dropped into Otley to see the TdY today, i've never been to the start of a cycle race before and it was ace! Everything was right in front of your face and up close, the bikes, the riders, frenchmen in mustard Chinos. I stuck my head into a Sky team car and inspected the radio gear without being told to sod off; i oversaw the inflation of all the spare wheels and got a really good look at the Mavic independant service car. It had bikes on the roof aswell as wheels, but i'm not sure why anyone would want one over their own spare from the team car. The big busses they all crash in were impressive, now and again one of the riders would stick his head out and shout something in a foreign language. All the bikes were lined up outside and nobody told you to get away if you got too close. It adds a lot of value to the experience when you can get that close.

12m. Brighouse to Odsal top, down to Stump cross up to Hipperholme and back to Brighouse.
Even on busy roads it's nice to be out on the bike.
Must do more as I really enjoy it.

After a couple of one way trials, finally got round to riding both ways on the work commute. Surprisingly little time spent on public roads, must be around 60-70% off the public highway, with most of the rest on quiet back roads etc, only really about 1 mile on a busy ish road.

Just over 41 miles and 2500ft of bumps. Hopefully I'll stop being a fat barstad after a couple of months of this.

Working at home this morning. Raining heavily; but the Met Office forecast had the probability of rain going down to 20% at 12:00, before going back up to 80% for most of the afternoon. Sure enough, the rain stopped just before 12:00. Off for 70 minutes' cycling round Charnwood Forest, including Leicestershire's biggest road hill: the 140 metres climb up Beacon Road, from Woodhouse to the col between Beacon Hill and Broombriggs Hill. Then on to Leicestershire's highest road, touching the 245m contour at Green Hill. No time to stop just along the road at Leicestershire's highest pub, the Bull's Head.

Does anyone have any good information or links relating to how the shape of your bike seat affects your chances of developing erectile dysfunction?

I was sure there must be something on the Cycling UK (formerly CTC) Forum, and, sure enough, when I went there and clicked on the "Health" category, this came up as second item: https://forum.cyclinguk.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=108869

3 miles with one 10-12% up a twisting mountain road.
    35 degrees and no breeze.
Struggling is an understatement, on an old borrowed mountain bike.
Yep, I did the walk of shame
