Flipping heck, what is the weather like with you? Horrendous over here, I couldn't stay upright on a bike even if I tried.

62k and 1380m climbing, my road loop of 50k then added a gravel section up round the mines and forestry for an extra 380m climbing, this slowed me up a bit as too rough to come down fast!
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

My son did Hardknott and Wrynose today - a recce for the Fred Whitton. 1000 metres of climb he said.

So I have decided this "I can do anything he can..." is unworthy of me and I went for a 37 mile pootle (with about 500 metres of climb) to the usual places.

After all I am almost old enough to be his father.

To Leicester for my second vaccination; a rather indirect route outward, a more direct route back.

Arrived at Rearsby on the way out and looked at my watch; I had the choice of a more scenic ride via Gaddesby and South Croxton, which would have required me to maintain a good pace in order to make my appointment, or a shorter route via Barkby at a more relaxed pace. I decided on the latter, which even left me time for a mooch around the churchyard at Rearsby, which had several interesting gravestones. There was Edward Hubber, who was murdered in 1712, but it was made clear that the murderer would receive divine justice even if justice wasn't done in this life. There was also the grave of George Harrison - no, not that George Harrison, this one died in 1711.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

Just saved myself £44 by cancelling my membership standing order to British Cycling which was due for renewal in June.

I couldn't see what I was getting for my money!
