My road shoes I wear size UK7, no matter what model. But I find that, much to my surprised, my fell, XC and trail shoes I tend to need size UK8, even using same insole and same socks.

i wear mizuno road shoes in size 11 and size 11 1/2 in off road mizuno's
I suspect that road shoes aren't built to be as snug as fell shoes so, if you try to get the same 'feel' in both of them, you'll end up getting a bigger size with the fells.
