    Two Lakes Run

Tomorrow (Sun 11th Feb) I'm gonna head over to Buttermere (village) to do my FIRST EVER FELL RACE. It's a 12 miler around Buttermere (lake) and Crummock Water and is described as 'fell and rough tracks'.

Any forumites local to the area doing it? Perhaps you can furnish me with a few more details ie

direction around lakes Clock or Anti'?
which fells does it go over?
is it a 'club vest must be worn' event like road races?
Ive got map, compass, body cover etc but is there anything else I should have/know (not many shops near Buttermere for last minute purchases).

    Re: Two Lakes Run

Done it! got sixth place. was on for fourth until legs became very heavy after 6 or 7 miles.
Am currently dog tired, certainly a lot more than i would expect to be after
an hour twenty run on the road.

one or two surprises at my first fell race. Race numbers written on hands, and the super turn out of competitors for what was a very low key affair.

Everyone was very friendly - certainly more so than i would expect at a road race. I'll definitely be doing more fell races.
