lakeland races next week

We're camping in the lakes next week, and I fancy doing a shortish (under 8 miles) race if there is one.

I've looked at the calender and there doesn't seem to be anything - nor on the BOFRA one. I know sometimes, small gala races are relatively un-publshed though.

Does anybody know of any fell races fitting the above criteria? If not how about trail races? I'd even consider a road race if it meant racing - I've not raced for months and I've just about got back the fitness to gain an additional gear to 'jog.'

Where is this race advertised, because I've just checked the FRA calander and it isn't there! I'm sure i've seen it!

Ah...in that case I've probably not been hearing about a lot of races then. My hardcopy of the colander is buried under a big pile of paper somewhere! I normally just look at the website as it’s convenient.
