I think you're being a little unfair on Thuggie there. She made a reasonable point which touched upon the broader issues here, and which I think is worth considering.
There are loads of unofficial events going on - my own club, Pennine, organises plenty (get in touch if you're interested) - but I doubt if we'd want too much publicity for some of them.
I'm also aware that some clubs have already had problems with landowners over club runs which have been "advertised" on their website.
