    BG success

Just a brief note to say that this week end a small group of Dark Peak and Penistone runners had the pleasure of my company for a long run in the Lakes.

I came in to Keswick in 23.44 and I can definitely say I've had a dryer time swimming in the sea despite the weather I had a good time on the hill and thank the support team for their company, That so many people gladly give up there own time is a humbling experince. A truely memorable day.

Thanks also to all the encouragement and offers of help following my last attempt, you don't know how close you were to getting the call up

Good going, I saw a few BGers as I ran up Skiddaw on the lovely Friday night. I didn't expect any of them to be successful after enduring half a day of that weather on Saturday. It was bloody awful on the Dow Crag - Coniston - 3 Shires area in the morning, heavy rain and strong winds. Well done.

    Thanks Iain

Was that you with the new glowing fell shoes around 7.00pm? If so we were first group of three that you ran past.

The other team was supporting a Jim from Congleton Harriers. We teamed up as he broke/lost a few of his supporters in the first three legs. It certainly helped with the Navigation to have more people keeping an eye on things. We finished with in a few minutes of each other.

Yeah, the VERY yellow mizuno wave harriers just bought from Pete Blands. Stunning night, but you could already see clouds forming.

Saturday must have been as bad a day as we've had this summer, we were doing the Cumbrian Traverse, it did improve slightly in the afternoon but by 3 Shires we decided to do a low level run out via Langdale and the cumbrian way. Just didn't fancy risking going back up as we were already soaked through.

Needless to say the trainers are no longer so yellow..:-)

Respect to you for completing the BG, barely anybody who even knows about it could even dream of completing the round and you've gone and dont just that.

How much/long did you have to train for it?.

Well done Ian, having bailed out in similar conditions on an early attempt of mine, I'm impressed. I hardly went outside on Saturday once the rain started.
