    numbers on shorts

Sometimes this can be a problem i know

Just wanted peoples views on it
At Sedburgh JB told me to put my number back on my vest so his marshals could see my number correctly at the checkpoints.
Problem is, a bit like Luvshack i nearly always have to take off my vest as i get very warm.
It wasnt a problem at the race as i pinned my number straight onto my vest and informed the marshals of my number as i ran past but with my shirt off tucked into my bumbag strap.

I see one or two pin there number on there shorts but dont think everyone takes there top off , WHY???.

I understand this can be a problem for marshals on the course especially when you run up to them in a bunch and its a bit manic.
Perhaps i should take a black marker and draw it on my belly.

One other problem is if i dont fold the number up my cherished pennine logo is blocked

Oh and what side of the fence are you on pinning wise.
Are you a pin on any old way will do OR Its got to be level and exact which ive seen people faff forever.

Number goes on my shorts, edges folded in so only the number is exposed.

If I put it on my front they usually disintegrate as the sweat gathers at the top of my protruding stomach and soaks the offending number which then disintegrates, I have done this since it fell off on the Stuc a Chroin & had to go back up hill to pick up the pieces. Only diff is on Ben Nevis where you have number back & front so they can see who it is whatever way you are lying.

I would advise caution about folding your number so only the numbers are showing. I received a warning at a race that I could be disqualified if the sponsor's name was not shown on my race number.

This is true, our chairman will go mad if you cover the sponsor when taking part in any of our club races.

I suppose if the sponsor is paying money then it's fair enough.

I like the small square plain card ones with a felt pen written number on with a placky bag. You can add your own sponsor to them, I have been known to write 'sponsored by Theakstons' on the bottom. They also fit nicely on the leg of your shorts.
