    TheShelf Moor Fell race

Just a quick plug for the Glossop Shelf Moor Fell Race coming up on Sunday 7th September 11am.

    Details at http://www.glossopdale.org.uk/races/racessm.html

As if running this cracking race wasn't reason enough, the 2008 Glossop Beer Festival will be on that weekend with an inviting selection of real ales to replenish your vital fluids. As a bonus this year the prize beer at the race will be a limited label version of the local Wren's Nest brew from Howard Town Brewery. Get there if you can.

I should be there. This year I'll try not to lose the flags from the top of James's Thorn. (The mist was pretty thick last year!).

Any more of those nice chocolates for prizes this year?

Yes to chocolates although I'm not organising it this year so not certain who gets what but the list will be extensive. There will be lots of liquid involved as well!

    might make this one

was going to do Chelmorton instead as a jolly family day out, but the weather forecast looks like putting paid to that idea

No not injured, just a 3 hour drive for (hopefully) a sub 1 hour run.
There's always next year when it will be a 10 minute drive/ride/walk

    Got the pm, no probs

    Chocolates! what about cake?

I'll be there, it's about time I got back to some racing. All these long challenges are ok for strength but I've really lost my speed, Not that I was very fast before

Well, I picked the chocolate and beer prizes up this morning. Sorry no cakes as prizes, but as I understand it there will be a small cake stall set up in the Scout Hut for after the race.
