great run by Laura Park to win the Juniors and lead the team to victory.
Great result for the girls.
Some interesting results in the SM race.

Must have been tough with such low places from the boys. Surprised Steve was 'only' 13th. An exceptionally strong year for competition. Love it that they have used Lloyds real name.
To provide some context: in the previous 23 WMRT England has won a total of just 7 Gold Medals (8 are awarded at each WMRT) and 2 of these were in 1992 (Susa) when Martin Jones won+ Robin Bergstrand and Mark Croasdale.
So this is an impressive and heartening performance.
It must be especially delightful for Laura Park who was ill at the 2007 WMRT and withdrew.
It is also rather nice that one of those earlier Gold Medals was won at Malé Svatonovice in 1997 by Victoria Wilkinson (as a Junior) and she was first England Senior back yesterday (13th place) leading the England ladies to 4th position.

He was too busy taking easy money at Worsley Woods yesterday (like candy from a baby springs to mind).......oh, and having a right good jest at pink fell pony vests......I think there was a hint of envy in his eye when he said it mind.
Short report at: http://www.iaaf.org/news/kind=100/newsid=47727.html
There is a statement from Danny Hughes on this link confirming that in 2009 a GB & NI team will be competing rather than Home Country teams:
"This was the last occasion on which we will see England in the competition since IAAF have granted the 25th event in 2009 the official title of World Mountain Running Championships. As a result the four UK teams with be replaced by a Great Britain and Northern Ireland team. The change was approved by the WMRA congress by 32 votes in favour, two abstentions and non against.
