    Rhinog Race

Apologies if this has been a thread before.

I can't get access to the race route on the website, does anyone else have a map they could send me? I've heard it's tough, any tips?

I might manage a recce trip in the next few weeks if anyone is interested in a gentle trundle up there.

Much stuff on last years thread.

This is a BEAST of a race. For me the trickiest bits are coming off first summit and last summit (especially the last. Got HORRIBLY lost in a maze of unclimable walls!!)

Gird your loins, stiffen your resolve, get some gumption and DO IT!!

If you email me I can send a map of the best route.
Coming off the last hill could not be any simpler, provided you know where to go! Assuming the CP on Moelfre is still on the stile, descend diagonally at 310 deg to stile, carry on along trod in same direction to wall corner, over stile

Apologies for unfinished previous message, here is the last bit!

... across rough field at 310deg to CP at lane.

Aha! So 310 it is then. Thanks Yiannis, I'll try that....although this year will probably be in clear visibility!

Hmmm... tempting... as it can be seen from basecamp windows... but I'm off to Norfolk that weekend partying (and playing around with kites and buggies on the beach )

    Re: Rhinog Race

The great Rhinog horseshoe race is coming up on Sat. It is a race that needs to be supported. The start and finish are flagged but the in between is not and this gives us an excellent chance to get lost even in good weather.
Note that after Y Llethr to the next manned checkpoint at the tarmac lane there are four stiles and no walls to go over. If you end up climbing a wall you are off course - check map on website.
