I hadn't entered one year. Emailed Colin but got no reply. He accepted my entry on the day. (Didn't get very far round the course though!) It's rather a long way to go on the off chance. You could always bung an entry in the post now with a grovelling letter!

Blackbeck Tarn was full, enough for everyone

Nowt going into it mind and just a trickle coming out but will be ok for filling a bottle.

Stream directly below Windy gap has dried up and spring on Moses trod is just a wet patch

Last year all the very kind marshalls after Blackbeck had water but I wouldn't rely on it, think of it more as a little treat

Didn't want to send a letter and hope as It is such a way to go and I could go off adventure racing in the peaks instead but would much prefer to do Ennerdale.

Anyway I have tracked Colin down and done my groveling so jobs a good un and I am running.

If by Haycock you are desperate for a drink, drop down to Silver Cove. The source of Silvercove Beck does not dry up whatever the conditions. You don't do extra distance or ascent for this. Rejoin the crowd near the wall junction.

Very light drizzle that only lasted for a few minutes.

Its cloudy and cool though, hope its the same on Saturday.

and hope the cloud drops down a few thousand feet

yeh - not a lot of rain - was up on Green Gable on Tuesday night - ground dry. I don't expect there to be a problem getting wet feet.

It is nice and cool though.
