Lubricant for XC spikes

So what sort of terrain should I avoid using them on?

I wasn't going to use them in any races that cross any tarmac sections (use fellshoes instead for them), what about those unmade dirt roads which have a scattering of compacted stones on them?

I've never found short stretches of tarmac a problem. Just lift your feet a bit higher so the spikes don't catch on the ground and snap of.

Avoid using them on mud!!??!!! Why cos that's ruin the newness of them???

I'm sure if Joliver Jim owned a pair of spikes, mud would be the first person she would use them on!!!
