STANDISH HALL TRAIL RACE (10k ish) - 25th October

This race is run twice a year. It's a local race for me organised by Wigan Phoenix. I first did this race last year and it was my first off road race and thoroughly enjoyed it!!!

Basically consists of 2 loops round a couple of fields and through the woods, all on a slight incline.

I think it clashes with the X-Country so might be a few less runners. So if your not doing the XC why don't you give it a whirl??

At the race in February the leaders took us on a bit of a detour in the woods adding on about an extra mile to the first lap. Ronnie O'Sullivan did this race a couple of years ago. I will probably be there on Saturday

Yeah the marshall was missing on the first lap but they had sorted it by the 2nd lap.

The good thing about the race was that at least EVERYBODY did the same route (I think) even though some new they were going wrong.

I'm sure they won't make the same mistake this time

I certainly was. I found it hard but managed to beat my last time by over 5 mins.

Well done to everyone that entered! Even Ron Hill turned up this year but no signs of Ronnie O'Sullivan this year

Just a quick note to let you all know this race is on again this weekend 28th Feb 2009.

Race is still the same but the registration venue has changed to the Britannia Hotel.

For those that like a challenge you could always do this AFTER the Bleasdale circle.
