There will be mud! The course for the last fixture is very heavy going underfoot and
I'm confident that it will provide a challenge for all age groups. Please note that toilets, changing and showers are in the building next to the track, and not in the swimming
baths, and post race refreshments will be on sale in the clubroom upstairs; drinks, pie
and peas etc. Parking is available at the sports complex (turn immediately right
on entry). Should you have to park on Newchurch Road, please do so carefully
and with courtesy to our neighbours. Guests may register with Graham Fecitt in
the white van adjacent to the fire escape. After a request from a non swimmer we
have construc.ted a bridge over the stream crossing which should cope with the
larger seniors, although I won't expect a RIBA award.
Good luck to everyone.

Overall Standings
Great day again. Unfortunately WPette has a cold and has been laid up today so missed her favourite race.
Mrs WP had a cracker and I didn't do so bad myself.
What happened to Horwich Ladies today though They had both Ladies and VET ladies in the bag and only 1 senior turned up.
On the razzle last night?
Thanks Steve Duxbury and Rossy for putting on a good event again. You can get rid of the bridge though, it's so slippy it's worse than jumping the stream!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the race. I was unsportingly amused at a few runners descending problems. One or two said, afterwards, it was the worst cross country they'd done. I'd say it was one of the best.
Although muddy, it is was to expect on that course!
www.vlaevents.co.uk Fancy something different?
The betting form was looking good for Matt Barnes but I wasn't expecting JB to turn up or expecting Matt not to be able to tie his own shoes and therefore loose one of them on the first downhill section!!! Cost him some time but managed to pull back JB by the end of the race. I thought Barnes would have won by a bigger distance, but it just shows how good a shape JB is in. Not pleased to have missed this fixture but had to start the sessions again yesterday as I need some speed back. I am fit, but just lacking that turn over of leg speed.
Well done everyone.
