    Did this route last year.

Suggest you start at Keswick and Finish at Broughton Mills. You get a nice long run off Dow Crag and over the quietest bit of the route, also the Blacksmiths is a top pub !

Take it steady and keep moving and you should have no problem doing it in daylight.

    Cheers

    Hi Adnan,
I completed the route in June, going from Broughton Mills to Keswick and would be happy to send you the GPX. I had a few problems with technology between Bowfell and Esk Pike so that part is a bit "straight line" and I also took some very questionable lines as a lot of it was new ground to me. Happy to share it with you.
Struggling with technology now as file won't upload to message as not a valid file extn.

I am hoping to do the CT this weekend. Weather dependent. Any suggestions how to get back to the car at Broughton Mills from Keswick ?

That is a tough one, for doing it alone:.

I suspect it is easier to do the other way round.
Leave the car at keswick, then use a mixture of public transport, lifts or cabs to get to the start

Maybe keswick - ambleside -torver, then cab from there?

Good luck anyway, it really is a good day out.

Thanks Mike. Only worry is that I will miss the early start but at least I will have a car at the finish.

Thanks Keever and Little Dave. Your GPXs were spot on, specially Keever you know your lines very well. I was impressed.

I got a lift yesterday to Coniston then a little warm up to Broughton Mills for the start. I left Broughton Mills at 10 am and was in Keswick by 7pm. I really enjoyed from Brown Pike to Dow Crag and from Cold Pike to Great End. I loved bouncing on the big rocks .
