No, it follows the ascent of the Fairmile Winter lEague as the descent. Hope that makes sense.
Committee meeting Sunday night so will be posting the decision about wether there will be a replacement race and if so where and when as soon as possible.
Just got back from the lakes - having paid for the youth hostel we carried on after the phonecall from Stick on the way up.
Met some disappointed runners at Wasdale Head on Saturday morning. No mobile signal up there so some hadn't heard about the cancellation.
The road up the valley was partially flooded and masses of water coming off the fells. Tents were up but parking would have been impossible.
Weather on Saturday was great so managed a good long walk with the family.
There were always going to bea few who slipped through the net; but thanks to everyone on Friday night who passed the word round. I got phone calls from 3 different people.
Glad to hear you had a good day out instead. It turned into a beautiful day. We await to hear what the committee decides tonight.
Depending on what they decide, there could be some unhappy bunnies about. Still to play for at least in the seniors for positions 1&2 and 4&5. Plus I wonder if Mark Croasdale was planning on Wasdale for his 8th counter for the v40. But the cancellation clearly couldn't be helped.
Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.

Grifter said he'd email / post the outcome if he had chance tonight. Meeting started at 8pm. Bet it's still going on!
Trouble is, whatever the commitee decide upon, all options will have pro's and con's. Gonna be a tough shout this one. I've got early start tomorrow morning so signing off very soon. Hope news comes through soon...!

Not quite the race i had originally planned but if you think Cracoe race tough this is going to be a lot worse.
It will follow the Cracoe race up to the pinnacle but then you will carry on over the style just past the pinnacle and follow the wall path down past Rylstone cross, do a circular route and back up the other side of the wall to the cross, over the wall style and onto the wall path you previously came down and back to Cracoe pinnacle and them down to the finish. It is a very rough and muddy path between the pinnacle and tower and will be very testing and hard and double the distance of the race !
Needed a tough race to substitute a tough race.
