    Compartment Syndrome ?

Has anyone got any experience of compartment syndrome? What exactly it feels like, and how to get over it?

Just speculating, in my usual hypochondriac style, whether I might have picked up this injury. I've had a niggle in my calf (on the inside edge, right behind the tibia) for about 10 days. I did a LSR 18 miles on Tuesday during which it niggled away. But then each day's run since has got it feeling worse and worse, and yesterday's really make me say 'ouch' to myself! It's sore to the touch for 10 or so minutes after running, and then all but disappears (until the next time I run).

    Any advice greatly greatly appreciated.......

Compartment syndrome is a serious condition that would threaten your leg and ultimately your life if untreated Luckily, I don't think you have it! I also don't think its a good idea to ignore niggles. I ignored my own good advice recently to my peril... I continued training for a week on a niggle that turned out to be a stress fracture and probably made the thing a whole lot worse Its always worth trying simple things first like icing it after you run and making sure you are stretching enough but if the niggle persists get it checked out by a physio who is experienced with sports injuries. A recommendation is always good or you could find one using the link below.

Bloke goes to the doctor and says "it hurts when I do this." The doctor says "don't do that."
