Re: Keswick to cat bells + onw

Well after intending to do the fairfield horshoe today, when i got into ambleside i couldnt even see any fells (because of the weather) what so ever so as ive never fun in the fells i thought im not experienced enough to probably end up getting lost or fall off a cliff in the cloud.

So i stayed on the coach until it got to keswick. Ran to Ashness Bridge, up and across to Walla Crag and bag into Keswick.

About 6 miles. For my first ever fun in the fells i found it bloody hard work running uphill, especially carrying a full rucksak on my back because i had nowhere to stash my non-running stuff. My legs where burning and my lungs where bursting.
I'll admit i had to walk a few times but once i'd reached the relatively level ground i was able to run non-stop.....and i managed to get back down to the base of walla in what felt like 2 minutes.

So for my first ever fell run, it was bloody hard work but i really enjoyed it.
But next time i need to find a place to stash all my stuff because the rucksak was what spoilt it abit for me.

Oh, and when i got back into keswick and i was sat outside george fisher, every single person looked at me like i was a piece of shite, and an old guy said i shhouldnt have gone up in 'this weather'.

Well i was getting to the stage that i wanted to nut the next person that gave me a dirty look. It was even worse when i was sat on a bench at the side of 'Blacks' whilst i changed my once-white; now-black socks.

Oh well, atleast im not obese light the majority of the people who gave me the looks
