    Mountain Rescue radio costs

Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere, but RNLI and Mountain Rescue radio spectrum licences are under threat of a massive increase.

Don't know if it's been covered elsewhere... possibly not as there were only 50 signatures when I checked....

    51 now of course.

63 now for the MRT, but a huge difference of 856 for the RNLI!

Still, I s'pose Gordon and Ali have to save money somewhere so they can spend it all on buying wan...sorry...bankers.

Maybe people fear drowning more than dying of exposure!

RNLI probably has a higher profile in the general public? It's all part of the rush to privitise everything for a quick buck.

Except the banks... We'll spend 38 billion bailing them out and nationalizing them...

    Or do you mean privatise?

On a serious note, added the weight of my hefty virtual signature to both petitions. Let's see them ignore that!!

not sure of the exact figures at present, but RNLI is struggling with funds also. Either way, i dont see any inequality between the two services, they are both equally important and goverment would be right in the shite if they were'nt there.

Well done for posting that, macc lad. It would be a national scandal if these voluntary organisations were to get hammered with market force charges. Their fees should be reduced. My signature's just gone on both petitions.
