Athletics Weekly / Fell / OMM

    http://www.athletics-weekly.com/back...8/63-44-01.htm

Many of you on here will not be recipients of AW. I was interested this week to find the Editor had given us a prominent mention - and actually he got it just about right in my opinion.

You can see the article on the above link.

However, further on in the letters section - William Eyles, via email sent
    "FELL INDEPENDENCE"
"I wonder if the fell running fraternity will come running - no pun intended - to UK or England Athletics for help following the traumatic marathon event in Cumbria last weekend.
They have always preferred to do their own thing, but this means they would have been pretty isolated if the event had turned in to a true disaster - that is, with deaths."

Billy - what a plonker - I didn't see any signs of trauma!

    An excellent magazine this week.
Not impressed with lack of write up for the Birmingham Half Marathon considering they are supposed to be using this course for next years World Half Marathon Championships. But I did here they are looking for an alternative course and maybe two laps.

Just thought it might get a mention with it being the home of the world half in 2009. Different course though I am lead to believe.
