is there a larger map available on-line (than the macc. harriers one) for this race and does anyone have checkpoint/grid ref. information?
cheers
Had planned to give this one a go on Sunday but done a cross country run this afternoon and my hip felt a little painful still so that may have scuppered me running. So folks I think it will be a case of bringing the camera along for photos.
I think this has been my favourite race of the year so far.
Conditions were perfect & I felt happy with my running. It was great to share my playground with so many people.
I've just decided I don't trust you anymore.
I thought this was a good race as well.
Fantastic part of the world.
And even the welsh were nice.
Yes, a great race.
A pity that the marshals got their act together after the leaders* had passed Moel Fammau.
The rest of us had to run an extra 100m round the trig point.
(* included fellrunner )
Only joking marshals. You did a great job, much appreciated. Rich and Ian were just too fast for you!
It looked like you all were having fun in the sunshine today, it was actually good fun to stand and watch for a change, my legs were just not up to it after last weeks marathon. I did manage a little race of my own up and down taking some photos so I'll get them all uploaded tonight/tomorrow so you can all see how bad you really looked
Marshalini, did you find your missing man? His parents (I gather) were starting to get a little worried. Was he ok?
jimbob - I hung around at the finish for ages with his parents and eventually went back to the village hall only to find out that he came back in a huff blaming the marshals for sending him the wrong way or something and stormed off without reporting to the finish.
It was his first experience of fellrunning but he knew he should report in if he pulled out because I told him more than once and I printed out the rules and gave him a copy.
I appologise to the people from NEWSAR and everyone else for his behaviour as it was me who suggested he have a go in the first place.
I had hoped to come over and take photos today as I was unable to run but unfortunately had to change my plans at the last minute and a bit disappointed I could not make it. Look forward to seeing your pics Jimbob

Just uploaded the first lot of photos, some are ok, some are a bit out of focus. The batch I took on the approach to CP5 (cairn) seemed to turn out the best as the sun/shadow seemed to play havoc with the autofocus everywhere else. The remaining 200 or so will go up later or tomorrow.
