    Ventricular Arrhythmia

Is this a nex sex technique that AllanT should try?

Or is it a serious concern for ultra distance runners?

(got your link wrong. It should be http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...559209,00.html)

I think it's a concern for all runners, not just ultra distance runners.

The article's a bit misleading as ventricular arrhythmia is just a description of something that's happened, not a disease. Certain conditions may predispose one to developing ventricular arrhythmias though.

One to know about is long Q-T syndrome. http://www.americanheart.org/present...dentifier=4637

I think we all need to be aware that just because we're fit, it doesn't mean we can't die suddenly and that one should take any cardiac symptoms seriously.

I did have the right link but the new forum software put an extra http:// in from of the URL and this made it an invalid link.

Are there other people who find that the new forum has lost many of its useful features?

e.g. you cannot see the URL references when you use the Edit or Quote functions.

Here, here. I agree that the article has been written in a bit of an alarmist fashion. Taking part in regular physical activity certainly gives us a significant level of protection from coronary heart disease but in fact there is no added benefit from training at high intensities compared with more moderate exercisers. In terms of those with underlying congenital heart disease the evidence is still clear that it is better to be fit than sedentary, but yes definately never ignore symptoms like palpitations (especially associated with unusual breathlessness), dizziness and fainting.

i read somewhere that a deficiency of magnesium was a contributory factor. Lots of magnesium in brazil nuts.
