    Race kit requirements.

This has been on many times so im sorry.

As Emmilou has kindly offerend me a lift to the Roaches, i now need to make sure i have the right kit so i dont get disqualified.

From what i gather you need a waterproof jacket, compass, map, whistle.

Do you need waterproof trousers because i dont have any of those; should i get on pete bland quick and by all i need - currently i only have a waterproof jacket

Minimum requirements is full body windproof cover, however the organiser may insist this is upped to full waterproofs. It would certainly be worth your while getting some windproof trousers. You don't have to get the best ones money can buy, most people just carry the trousers, so you may be able to get away with going into Preston and getting some cheapy lightweight pants from somewhere.

Inov8 Mislite are £25 from Pete Blands, or Regatta packaway trousers £20 from cotswold. They look like they could be packed down well.

It's surprising how big the kids clothes can be. If you make it down to say a 28 waist it widens your choice.................
