Also, would Pendle full tour? Even though it is not on FRA calender?
reason i ask is i want to try and qualify at some point to do three peaks race
cheers folks

Categories go something like
Cat C more than 100' ascent per mile
Cat B more than 125' per mile, I think
Cat A more than 250' per mile
Cat S is less than 6 miles
Cat M is 6-12 miles and a
Cat L is more than 12 miles
Can i just ask, as ive never even heard of races being in categorys, what exactly do they mean.
Is it just a general guide line so you know what your entering or is there any other specific reasons for categorys.
Al, they are FRA rules and requirements etc, i would suppose main reason is to ensure a competitor is able enough to do a race, you can read about it here http://www.fellrunner.org.uk/pdf/com...ompetition.pdf
well, i would suppse that i will be trying three peaks next year, plenty of training to go through though. I'm sure there are plenty of forumites who will take me to the peaks and push me to the limits
aaaaaaah i see. Make sence really doesnt it, so your everyday tom dick and harry dont get too ambitious and think they can do a hundred miler whereas really they will collapse at mile 11.
Is there a time scale to when you do your qualifing races. Or could darth do his wernside this year, and nto attempt the 3 peaks for a number of years?
there's no real time limit etc, once you have done the qualifying races, your qualified, so can do three peaks when you want, i want to attempt it next year, as its the FRA biggie, and i love that area anyhow. Plus, it gives me something to train hard for.
I am not quite sure how one proves that they have done qualifying races though, i could just say i have
