ANNUAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
(Under UK Athletics Rules)
To be held at Woodbank Park, Stockport.
Saturday 10th January 2009 First Race 11.30am
Changing facilities and car parking arrangements will be sent with entry acknowledgement.
Numbers will only be given to Team Managers
U13 Girls 11 years and under 13 Distance not exceeding 3000m at 11.45
U15 Girls 13 years and under 15 Distance not exceeding 4000m at 12.15
U17 Women 15 years and under 17 Distance not exceeding 5000m at 1.15
U20 Women 17 years and under 20 Distance not exceeding 5000m at 1.15
Senior Women Over 20 years Distance not exceeding 8000m at 1.45
Veterans Over 35 years Distance not exceeding 8000m at 1.45
U13 Boys 11 years and under 13 Distance not exceeding 3000m at 11.30
U15 Boys 13 years and under 15 Distance not exceeding 4000m at 12.00
U17 Men 15 years and under 17 Distance not exceeding 6000m at 12.40
U20 Men 17 years and under 20 Distance not exceeding 8000m at 1.45
Senior Men Over 20 years Distance not exceeding 12000m at 2.30
Veterans Over 40 years Distance not exceeding 12000m at 2.30
AGE GROUPS
Ages will be calculated at 31 August / 01 September 2008, except for the Under 20 age group which will be calculated from 31 December 2009. Athletes in this age group must be U20 on the 31 December 2009 in order to comply with eligibility for the U20 Inter Counties Championships. Athletes must be born after 1st January 1990.
Competitors are not permitted to compete in other than their own age group.
There will be two competitions held within the Senior Women and Senior Men’s races – a Senior race and a Veterans race. Veterans will not be eligible for both a Senior award and a Veterans awards. Veterans will be eligible for a Senior Team award.
The Women`s U17 and U20 races will be run as a combined team race but will have individual awards for the two age groups. Teams may consist of any combination of the two age groups.
The U20 men will run with the Senior Women.
TIMINGS
The timings quoted are only approximate, but some races may start before the previous race has finished. Please listen to all announcements, but athletes must by ready to run their race at the stated time.
QUALIFICATION
Competitors must have been born in, or have nine months continuous bona-fide residence in Greater Manchester (as defined on 01 April 1974), immediately prior to the date of the Championships.
AWARDS
Awards will be presented to the first three individuals in all races.
Awards will be presented to the 3 scoring members of a team in all Championship races except the Senior Men which will be 4.
CLUB COLOURS
Club vests of the same colour and design MUST be worn by every athlete in the team.
FIRST AID
Would all Clubs please ensure they have adequate First Aid cover for their own athletes.
ENTRY FEE
£2.00 per athlete.
