Well done, keep entering races and enjoy yourself
Time/position used to seem important to me, now i don't bother about it, just finishing a race is pleasure enough

Ouch! Yes, good one. Got one just making a reappearance after losing it at Pendle Cloughs race in August. Could almost hear it rip off against the roof of my shoe as I was going down Big End.

Does that sound like a euphemism? Nah!

congratulations on completing your first race.

ignore the tips in the 'advice that is free' thread unless you like eventful races

Sounds like you did well for your first race.

As above entering races is the best training for it and also the most fun!

Don't forget you need a pint after, just to top up the electrolytes.

good result for a first run, you'll improve no end just by getting used to the underfoot terrain, then when you get used to the hills you'll improve even more so keep at it and enjoy it

    Re: Brand new

Thank you for all the lovely comments in response to my post!!

I hope to get some more races unde rmy belt next year but would dearly love to get another one in before this year is out. Does anyone know of a 'nice' race I can try preferably up in North Wales area?

Struggled with sore knees all week - is this normal?

    Thank you all again x
