    Re: Quiet Around Here

My cat has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism  He lost over a pound in weight as apparently he is producing too much hormone and it is burning the food off quicker than he can eat it. He has been on tablets for the last week or so and has now put most of the weight back on. It takes two of us to get the tablet down his throat as he puts up quite a fight. Mrs Alf has him wrapped in a towel while I grab his head wearing a gardening glove and open his mouth He has to have the pill swallowed whole as it slowly releases something into his system.
He is looking a lot better now but his basketball skills have disappeared

Well, she does like laptops. I guess all this time she was just figuring out how to use them, rather than just warming her butt on the keyboard.

Your cat is too clever... My cat barely notices anything has happened if you are quick enough with the grab, mouth open, tablet in and down it goes.

oh dear! I remember having to force tablets down a cat of mine once, no point crushing them into food as they just don't eat it. and if you hide them in food they eat round them. crafty cats! good luck with it

Hmm, the £100 seems to have been spent. Can't help but think she's been down the pub with it.

    Look for the telltale signs.

    A slurred miaow.
Inability to walk on a fence/wall without falling off.
Telling the local pit bull to come over here if he thinks he's hard enough.
