Thread: Quiet Around Here

[Derby Tup Singles are tough but I'm getting there.]

Yeah. I thought that at first but once you had eliminated the Top 6 album artists, so no Dylan, Elvis, Young, Newman,....it became "what singles do you still play with pleasure after 50 years?"...and it was easy.

You Can't Sit Down is just a wow! record.

Ingleton was pleasant enough. By god it's busy down south, not just Ingleton either.

And the landlord in The Three Horse Shoes is a cheery fella, when I say cheery I mean miserable bugger.

Tune Graham. My no 2 choice is relatively new to me but a huge current favourite (plus I'm claiming it as an instrumental)

I have his Wiggle Tail (pt 2) on a compilation CD.

He only ever had one record released in the UK (from the 20+ released in the US on the family owned Class label) and that was Forever/Ez-zee on London American HLY 9056 in Februuary 1960.

But you might not remember that!

Mmmh. I have this but I always fast forward now although I sometimes play Time is Tight. I bought the Green Onions album at the time (1962) and I always regretted it. I think my problem with all the Stax groups is that in being session men they are just too professional and smooth: I like my rock 'n' roll to be flawed and dirty; but magical.

Listening to a lot of early Chess era Chuck Berry at the moment.

Now that's dirty-in more ways than one.

Hard fir anyone else to get a word in, what with DT and Graham harking on about yesteryear music.
