My daughter has almost completed her 2nd year PHD Clinical Psychology at Lancaster Uni.
The on campus teaching has been suspended since mid March.
They have just been informed there will be no prospect of teaching resuming until a vaccination programme is up and running.

That's interesting. At Loughborough, teaching is going to resume on campus at the start of next term in October. Small classes will be allocated to larger-than-usual teaching rooms, so that they can all sit at least 1 metre apart. Large classes will still be taught over video-conferencing media (as was being done since mid-March); and even for them, it is hoped that a proportion of each class can attend in person in each lecture.

My clubmate (and a superb fellrunner) has recently published the first paper of his PHD (astro-physics i think)...
21 pages long... i'm a reasonably intelligent guy, but i couldn't even make it past the introduction before i was totally lost!!!
My brother in law works at Cern and was part of the team that discovered the Higgs Boson. Tried reading one of his papers and couldn't get past the first sentence! Any more bar room bragging??
