Why was the scent so predictableOn Saturday a fell runner was given a 20-minute head start and the hounds were released. The bloodhounds followed the scent of the runner's shoes.
Mr Richardson said: "This is as close as you can get to replicating the hunt, but it is the unpredictability of the hunt that attracts people.
"With the bloodhounds it is now just a cosmetic exercise."
No imagination by the fell runner
He could have run through streams, jumped into bogs, splattered cow-sh1t onto his shoes, run though a house, changed his shoes, climbed a tree or two, etc.
What other tactics could be have used to thow off the hounds?

Carry dog treats / kebab meat , that'll slow em down lol
Generally going nowhere fast.
apparently, gun powder throws them off the scent too!! sprinkled on the floor on your tracks, or lobbed at them in metal casing. they call them grenades these days.
But be weary when in bowland in this area, if you run up a small hill and hear: PULL!!!
then run bloody faster
go play on the m 6, now, how does that sound
