Parking Dunmail Raise

Hi All,

Is it still okay to park at Dunmail Raise or have parking restrictions been inforced. I know this was discusse don the old forum, but cant remember the outcome.

All I know is there's a two hour parking limit in the layby on the south side of dunmail but as far as I'm aware its still ok to park on the top of the pass.

I've parked there several times in the past for >48 hours with no problems. That's not to say there aren't any rules about it, but I've not noticed any signs there saying that it's illegal. Generally I park on the left, facing towards Grasmere about 5m from the stile. I leave a small note in the car with a date of return, so that no-one reports it to the police thinking I've gone missing...

yeah the big layby at the top is OK to park as long as you want. It's where we park for out training camps which are based in the large house right there.
