Now then. Who fancies some UK based Singlespeed madness? http://www.ssuk2011.com/ iamin.
Fantastic night for a ride last night.
Looking forward to this one now!
A 14 miler on my SS MTB (converted a couple of months ago from my daughters broken old Saracen 18 speed mtb bike) today with lots of hills to get me out of the saddle. Mostly bridleway/track but a couple of miles of road as well. I think I may have buckled the front wheel though but it will have to wait a bit before I replace it. Chain needs re-tensioning and brakes need adjusting quite a bit as well after 4 outings so I am either working it hard or that is normal wear an tear for a SS MTB ?
I think I may well relent and go SS now. The poor old mtb ges a right battering every winter. Be good to have something easier to maintain
18.5 miles and 2200' on the SS today. I mainly followed a MTB route I found on the Rossy Harriers website http://www.rossendaleharriers.co.uk/...20Cragg001.bmp with a few modifications (gained some distance but lost some climb ) plus I started and finished from home.
Sanderson 69er back to Single-Speed for winter including a tasteful new chain
Nikalas; quite Luuuveeerly!. From a position of complete ignorance: Would it be feasible to fit a rear wheel with a Shimano Alfine 11 hub gear, into that configuration, using the bolt-on chain tensioner?? Just a thought for a (wide ratio) geared on/off road winter bike without a low slung derailleur to pick-up snow then ice up!
Ian.
I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!
