Striving for mediocrity
The wife doesnt seem to have the same excitement as me with the arrival of the new handbook haha .Pencilling in a few races for next year. I see Guisborough 3 Tops is been ran twice,5th April and then 6th September, the latter been an English Championship race.
Re the Guisborough 3 Tops, yes. Dave Parry is running it twice next year. Once in April for the locals as part of the Winter Series and again in September for the English Champs as the field is limited (to 350 I think).

3 handbooks recieved in post yesterday
also never put the fellrunner down since recieving it on saturday
Thanks for that, I was thinking it might be last in this seasons winter league and then first in next seasons winter league, but your explanation makes more sense. Shame it has to clash with Ben Nevis, I was fancying that next year, think I might go with 3 tops though now.
This years Handbook/Calendar is again, as always, the most welcome item of mail I receive around Christmas. However I do have one gripe. Over the last few years, miles and feet have quietly disappeared from the listings.
Why? I am sure that very many members first choice of measurement is still miles/feet.
I know that on the website under the Events/Races this Month tab most RO's show distances and ascent in imperial and metric.
Can we please have imperial back in the Handbook?
Visibility good except in Hill Fog
The Calendar was metricised for 2012 so 2019 is the 8th year since the change which was timed to coincide with other bodies eg Scottish Hill Runners Calendar, and so as to be consistent with UKA events eg British Fell Championships.
It was announced in The Fellrunner Autumn 2011 page 12.
"...as dry as the Atacama desert".
Thanks Graham.Time flies!
