    Cautley Spout Howgills

    Hi,

    trying to find out if Cautley Spout's frozen enough to climb yet.

    Anybody been running past in the last day or two??

    After last night, Ali, I'd be surprised if there is any running water at all in the Lune basin.

    We were there before Christmas, and was surprised at how little water there was in the beck. It may well have frozen by now, but whether there's enough ice to climb is another matter.

    It'll definately be cold enough but we haven't had any rain for a bit so it might be a bit thin.
    Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.

    2 Ice climbers were coming away from the waterfall at Moss Beck, Newlands Hause today. Looked very frozen!!

    Lots of snow today. Perfect for snowballs but probably not so great for ice climbing. Maybe he's in a big heap of snow at the bottom! Should someone pop over to check?
